Regulatory Control Subject Matter Expert, VP, Corporate & Investment Banking

London, hybrid working

The role is part of the COO team and is specifically allocated to the first Line of Defence (1LOD) Regulatory and Controls (RAC) function, within the Markets Business & Regulatory Controls (MB&RC) Team.

The Regulatory Control SME will be responsible for managing the outsourced governance framework used to oversee the service providers executing regulatory reporting and controls, including but not limited to Markets In Financial Instrument Regulation and Directives for the EU and UK (MiFID II), Dodd Frank CFTC and SEC Reporting, European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), Sterling Money Markets Reporting (SMMD), and Securities Financing Transaction Reporting (SFTR) .

This role also has responsibility for oversight of third party arrangements, through existing third party risks management arrangements, and service level agreements with our outsourced Back Office. Overall objective is to ensure controls across the regulatory landscape are executed and monitored to ensure the London branch maintains compliance, and to ensure changes which impact the Regulatory Control Framework and fully validated and handover into Business As Usual.

Candidates will have:

  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape especially thematic reviews / critical topics raised by the FCA and PRA
  • Experience of, or excellent working knowledge of, a corporate and investment bank, ideally within a 3rd Country Branch
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with sales / trading personnel
  • Strong technical knowledge across core regulations e.g. MIFID II, FATCA, CRS, DF, EMIR, GDPR, Volcker, FX Code etc
  • Significant experience with running and overseeing controls, and creating dashboards
  • Experience in implementing change
  • Ability to translate, manipulate and analyse data to perform root cause, trends and undertake impact analysis
  • Experience of data analysis tools such as Excel and PowerBI
