About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Master Agreement Negotiator to join the London office of a leading international corporate and investment bank on an initial 9-month contract with the opportunity to become permanent.
This role sits within the COO and Chief of Staff function and works closely with the Global Head of Master Agreement Negotiations, the Global Markets business, and the Legal department.
You’ll play a key part in drafting, negotiating, and executing a high volume of Master Agreements across a wide range of counterparties and product types, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct capacity and authority checks on counterparties.

Review and apply close-out netting and collateral legal opinions.

Draft, negotiate, and execute a portfolio of English-law Master Agreements, including ISDA, CSA (VM and IM), CDEA, GMRA, and GMSLA.

Manage between 50–60 agreements with a focus on timely turnaround and high-quality execution.

Review client mark-ups, identify deviations, and escalate requests promptly to internal stakeholders.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet time and volume targets.

Collaborate with internal teams including Front Office, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Tax, Operations, and Collateral Management.

Engage with a diverse client base, including corporates, financial institutions, asset managers, hedge funds, and insurers.
Skills and Experience Required

Minimum 8 years’ experience negotiating Master Agreements (ISDA, CSA, CDEA, GMRA, GMSLA).

Strong technical understanding of netting, collateral rules, and related legal opinions.

Proven ability to manage new agreements and amendments efficiently in high-volume environments.

Solid grasp of the regulatory framework impacting master agreements (e.g., EMIR, UK EMIR, MiFID, BRRD).

Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and record-keeping.

Proactive, results-oriented, and able to deliver under pressure while meeting KPI targets.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective in cross-functional, international collaboration.
