Structured Lending Lawyer – Global Markets (VP Level)

London, hybrid working

Are you a skilled and commercially astute finance lawyer with a passion for structured lending? We are seeking a Structured Lending Lawyer at Vice President level to support a diverse range of high-value structured funding transactions within a fast-paced Global Markets environment.


About the Role

As a key legal advisor to front office teams, you will work closely with the securitised products and structured lending businesses, providing legal and regulatory guidance on complex financing transactions across asset classes including:

  • Infrastructure

  • ABS/Real Estate

  • Trade Finance

  • Private Credit

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with traders, structurers, and senior stakeholders to shape and execute bespoke funding solutions in an evolving regulatory landscape.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead legal structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution of structured lending transactions.

  • Advise on LMA-based financings, security structures, intercreditor issues, enforcement rights, and insolvency risks.

  • Provide legal insight into relevant regulatory regimes affecting both loan and note-based financings.

  • Educate and support business teams in interpreting and implementing regulatory changes.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Risk, Compliance, and other legal teams to ensure robust legal risk management.

  • Support cross-functional projects and contribute to a proactive legal function embedded within the trading floor.


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years PQE, ideally gained in a leading law firm or in-house in a financial institution.

  • Strong experience in structured finance and lending transactions, including holdco structures, fund finance, and acquisition finance.

  • Familiarity with LMA documentation, ISDA and repo agreements, and note issuance documentation is advantageous.

  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to structured financing.

  • Excellent analytical, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team orientation.
