VP Sustainability, Global Bank

The role will be supporting the Sustainability Leader in

  • Development of sustainability targets and ambitions, tracking emerging sustainability topics and following industry developments and sector decarbonisation initiatives
  • Engagement in external industry initiatives to help evolve approaches to net zero, portfolio alignment and sector decarbonisation
  • Evolving the group’s position on environment and climate change, taking into account stakeholder expectations, industry trends and peer activity
  • Preparing Group’s disclosure/communication materials, coordinating and preparing briefs for senior representatives ahead of key government, trade association and similar meetings
  • Interaction with relevant trade associations and industry bodies on UK/EU and other policy issues



  • Previous experience working in sustainability or sustainable finance in financial institutions
  • Strong understanding and experience of ESG and climate agenda
  • Experience applying ESG regulations and experience of ESG framework development and implementation in banking or asset management
  • Solid understanding of global sustainable finance standards (EU taxonomy, ICMA, LMA principles, etc.) and experience of applying them in practice
  • Excellent communication skills – spoken and written, an ability to explain complex policy issues and topics at a non-technical level and build strong internal relationships
